Psychosomatic disorders, stress and more.

An article by Rinu P. Ashok (Mental health therapist)

Psychosomatic disorders are sometimes known as psycho-physiological illnesses, in which a kind of ailment links the mind with the body. A physiological function in one’s body is disturbed due to a psychological strain, either inducing a disease or aggravating a pre-existing disease. The internal organ of the human body is mismanaged through improper stimulation of the autonomic nervous system. Psychosomatic interference can involve practically every organ of the human body.

Hypertension, respiratory diseases, gastro-digestive disturbances, migraine, tension headache, pelvic pains, impotence, ulcers, psoriasis, eczema, high blood pressure, and even heart diseases can be psycho-somatic disorders due to abnormal or excessive stressful conditions of life.

The regular and serene face of life largely helps to prevent falling into such a disorder. It is the following combined therapy: medication plus psychoanalysis, behavioral therapy, and mindful living, which brings about quick recovery and successfully leads one towards a harmonious existence.
